Gift basket

Adapted from a design seen on nedesembegenirsin.blogspot.com.es
Photo of project is on my post 15 March 2016

Stamps: Timeless Textures (pg 29) Honeycomb Happiness (SAB)
Ink: Memento Black, Soft Suede
Markers: Tangerine Tango, White gel pen
Soft Suede, Whisper White, “Cherry on the top” DSP
Accessories: Candy Dot Bases, Metallic Baker’s Twine
1¾” circle punch, ¼” hand held circle punch, Piercing tool & mat, Daubers

1. Cut A5 size Soft suede card at 8 ¼” (in landscape position).   You will end up with a square piece. With the left over piece, (in portrait), cut a 2½” strip, turn this piece you have just cut 90º and cut at 5” then score at 2 ½”. This will make your gift card. The long left over strip will be your handle and the rectangle piece is scrap.2. Punch two half circle shapes from the left over scrap of soft suede card. Dauber edges and set aside.
Score the large 8 ¼” x 8¼” square at 1”, 2”, 3”, 5¼”, 6¼” and 7¼”. Turn 90º and score at 3” and 5¼”. Fold along all score lines.
4. In landscape position find the centre of the card, which is 4⅛” and make a pencil mark on top edge. Do the same on the opposite edge.
From where the vertical 3” score line intersects horizontal 3” score line, draw a pencil line to the middle 4⅛” point. Then draw another pencil line from where the 5¼” score line intersects the 5¼” score line. You will make a triangle shape. Do the same on the opposite side. (See diagram). Cut up score lines and pencil lines as shown. Cut on bold lines only as shown in diagram.
Stamp outside of card and handle. Dauber along all cut and folded edges if desired.
6. Adhere basket together, starting with middle triangle piece. Bring the “flap” to the right of the middle piece over top of middle piece and attach to the top, making sure that the top right hand corner of flap aligns with the point of the triangle. Cut off the excess that overhangs the left hand side of the triangle. Do the same with the left hand flap, this time making sure that the top left hand corner of flap aligns with the point of the triangle. Repeat with the alternating next two flaps. The last two flaps do not meet up at the triangle but go straight across to form the side of the basket. Cut the excess triangle point off that shows above the straight side flaps.
Repeat step 6 on the other side of the basket. Glue on half circles that you punched in step 2 to cover join where side flaps meet.
Attach handle to inside of basket. Pierce hole in half circles and push candy dot base through.
Decorate gift card with a chick image. Stamp once on white card and once on patterned paper. Hand cut chick from the patterned paper and glue on top of the first image. Colour beak and feet with marker and attach card to basket with metallic baker’s twine.
